Pulse oximetry

Pulse oximetry measures the amount of oxygen saturated in the blood (SpO2). This procedure has been in regular use for over twenty years, and is used to monitor the condition of patients suffering from respiratory disorders (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma).

The principle on which pulse oximeters operate is based on the ability of blood to absorb the red and infrared light emitted by the sensor at the tip of the finger, depending on its oxygen saturation.

The oxygen saturation value may be considered dangerous if it is below 90% for arterial blood. The normal value is 100% under normal atmospheric conditions.

A multi-parameter display

In addition to measuring blood oxygen saturation and heart rate, you can set a number of parameters such as four-way display, graphic display of pulse and blood oxygen saturation, setting of alert ranges for heart rate and blood oxygen saturation, setting of alert sound and screen brightness.
