The plant pot cover dresses up the plastic pot of a plant and protects the furniture from watering: glazed ceramic, gold or vintage metal, woven natural fibre, sold individually or as a set in various sizes. It turns every plant into a decorative element.

A set of plant pot covers of different sizes creates a harmonious green corner.

What is a plant pot cover for?

A plant pot cover doesn't get planted directly: you slide the plant's pot, often plastic, into it. It hides the unattractive pot, collects excess watering, and protects the furniture or the floor. This way, you can change your decor without repotting.

Which material to choose?

Glazed ceramic, heavy and stable, is suitable for large plants and elegant interiors. Metal, whether gold or aged, adds a more modern or vintage touch. Woven natural fibre warms up a bohemian interior but is sensitive to humidity. Concrete or terracotta give a raw style.

What size pot cover?

Choose a pot cover that is slightly wider than the plant pot, by two to five centimetres, so it can be removed easily. It should be tall enough to hide the edge of the pot, without covering the bottom of the leaves.

Avoid stagnant water

After watering, empty any water that accumulates at the bottom of the pot cover: the roots don't like to be submerged. A layer of clay balls at the bottom lifts the pot and prevents the roots from staying wet.

Combining multiple pot covers

Sets of pot covers, sold in two or three sizes, can be grouped on a windowsill, a shelf, or on the floor. Vary the heights of the plants and keep the same material or colour for consistency.

Plant covers and artificial plants

A pot cover makes an artificial plant look more realistic by hiding its original pot. Add a bit of decorative moss or pebbles on top to perfect the illusion.

Caring for a pot cover

Wash ceramic and metal with soapy water, removing limescale with a bit of white vinegar. Fibre can be dusted with a brush and air-dried. Regularly remove the pot to air it out.

When to find pot covers at a reduced price?

Frequently asked questions

Can you plant directly in a pot cover?

It's not recommended: without a hole at the bottom, water stagnates and damages the roots. Keep the plant in its plant pot.

How to cover the edge of the pot?

Choose a pot cover high enough. Then cover the soil with moss or clay balls for a neat finish.

Does a fibre pot cover hold water?

Not directly: slide a saucer or liner inside. The fibre is sensitive to moisture.

How to remove limescale from a pot cover?

With a cloth soaked in white vinegar, followed by a rinse with clear water. Limescale comes off easily.

What colour pot cover should I choose?

White and terracotta go with all plants; gold adds a chic touch. The green of the foliage stands out against a neutral pot.
